BRETT KISSEL ANNOUNCES EAST ALBUM
March 24, 2023
March 24, 2023 (Toronto, ON) - Today, multi-platinum, three-time JUNO Award winning artist Brett Kissel announces the forthcoming East Album with the release of feature track “Spend A Little Time With You,” available today across streaming platforms - listen HERE. The second installment of Kissel’s four-part The Compass Project, East Album is slated for release April 28.
Featuring solo songwriting and acoustic arrangements, East Album is the most intimate record Kissel has released yet. A collection of stripped down, heartfelt, acoustic songs, this east coast inspired album demonstrates a new level of vulnerability and emotional depth from Kissel as a songwriter.
The lead track of the album sets the stage for what fans can expect from East Album - an easy listening collection to slowdown and unwind. “We live our lives so fast and so busy - it's wild, really. 'Spend A Little Time With You' is about gearing down, shutting off the rest of the world - the noise if you will - and being in the moment with the ones that mean the most to you,” Kissel shares. “It's like the perfect Sunday morning, the perfect fall-stroll, or night in with just the two of you, soaking in nothing but each other - it's a love song, and a nod to the beauty in simplicity and making the most of our time together.”
Kissel's lead single “Never Have I Ever” from the first installment of The Compass Project - South Album - continues to shine, amassing more than six million streams globally, and was the most added single at Canadian Country Radio in it's first week of availability. It all “Started With A Song” ten years ago, and ever since, Brett Kissel has had an extraordinary rise to superstardom in the Canadian country music scene. With three Platinum and ten Gold singles, two Gold-certified albums, and sixteen Top-10 radio hits, he has become one of the country’s most celebrated artists. Having toured with legends such as Garth Brooks and Brad Paisley, and completing record breaking runs across the country, Kissel has firmly planted himself as one of Canada’s most beloved entertainers. He has also become well known for his genre-defying collaborations, which have led to some iconic duets featuring Grammy winners Charley Pride, Dave Mustaine, Nelly, and iconic R&B group, 98 Degrees.
Kissel is kicking off the touring season with back to back sold out shows in Truro, NS this weekend ahead of his return to the Grand Ole Opry stage on April 14, and a performance at CMA Music Festival in Nashville later this spring.
